Protecting our investments.
Insuring oneself against damage or loss has been a practice employed since the beginning of time – something for which we have historically relied heavily upon surrounding community members. If there was a fire, it was our neighbors who would respond to the call and rebuild what was lost.
But time has changed things.
Gone are the days of relying on one’s neighbor. Today, as you access your contingent losses and develop a plan to manage your dealership’s risk there is quite literally a million things to consider – none of which has much of anything to do with the altruism of your fellow community members.
Since 1970, AIADA has prided itself as an exception to this rule. Thanks to our network of over 11,000 international nameplate automobile franchises we have remained the champion voice for international dealers for 37 years, protecting against harmful legislation that would pose risks to the economic viability of American dealerships.
We are the only national lobbying force in the United States dedicated exclusively to the economic and political interests of America’s international nameplate automobile dealers. These include all dealers who sell and service the following brands: Acura, Aston Martin, Audi, Bentley, BMW, Ferrari, Honda, Hyundai, Infiniti, Isuzu, Jaguar, Kia, Lamborghini, Land Rover, Lexus, Maserati, Maybach, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, MINI, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Porsche, Rolls Royce, Saab, Scion, Subaru, Suzuki, Toyota, Volkswagen and Volvo.
AIADA was founded in order to increase awareness among the government and the public of the international nameplate automobile industry’s value to the U.S. economy. The association serves as an advocate for the industry before Congress, the White House and federal agencies. It focuses its lobbying efforts on federal issues impacting America’s international nameplate automobile dealers, including: trade and anti-competitive restrictions that limit the availability of international nameplate automobiles; full repeal of the Death Tax and other tax measures; affordable healthcare; energy and fuel economy policies that constrict consumer choice; and other industry-related issues.
Our Mission
At the grassroots level, we work to forge meaningful and mutually beneficial relationships between local auto dealers and their respective federal representatives. The association arranges for Members of Congress to visit AIADA dealer members at their dealerships as part of our innovative Dealer Visit program. These dealer visits provide dealers the opportunity to get to know their representatives and educate them about the business of operating an international nameplate auto dealership.
Our Legislative Action Network (LAN), made up of politically active dealer members, is the key to our success on Capitol Hill. Through this network of dealers, federal representatives hear first-hand how pending legislation affects our side of the industry and the jobs and revenue we create.
In addition, AIADA provides a wide range of public relations, education, networking, and business improvement services for our dealer members to help them excel in a dynamic and ultra-competitive business environment.
While risk is a natural part of any business plan, we are working to ensure we're always one step ahead of it.
